Hansi town belongs to Hisar District of Haryana. Hansi;s famous sweet product “Peda”, which is made from milk, is sent to many other towns and cities for retail selling.
History of Hansi:-
In 1947, when the British India was divided into India and Pakistan, a large number of Muslims migrated to Pakistan.The city of Hansi has 5 gates to enter Delhi. They are the Delhi gate at the East, Hisar gate at the West, Gosain gate at North-West, Barsi gate at South and Umra gate (South west). The important trait of this town is that the altitude increases as we enter there from any of the gates. Another important tarit of the city is its fort, which is extended to a area of acres. The fort is square in shape. The fort belonged to King Prithvi Raj Chauhan. Later a sword manufacturing industry was established in this fort. The swords manufactured here were exported even to Arab countries. During the period of Firoz Shan Tuglaq, an underground tunnel was constructed connecting the present Hansi to Hisar.

Known for historic relics, Hansi has been under the influence of varied cultures from Jainism to Hinduism to Islamic to British; the reason being many rulers ruled this particular town in the past.Located at a distance of 26 km from Hisar on National Highway 10, one can enter Hansi from five different gates in different directions. These are Delhi Gate on its East, Hisar Gate in the West, Gosain Gate in the northwest, Barsi Gate on its South and Umra Gate in the southwest. Interesting piece of trivia is that the altitude increases as one enters there from any of the gates.
A little known fact about Hansi is that Painted Grey Wares and coins of the Yaudheya dynasty have been discovered here.The rustic town of Hansi has been visited by Shahjahan, Prithvi Raj Chauhan, and Anangpal Tomar in the past and is home to many great souls like Baba Farid the sufi saint, Jagganath Puri the hindu saint and Guru Gobind Singh the tenth Guru of the Sikhs.Famous for its forts, tombs, mosques and shrines, Hansi provides a gateway to Indian cultural and religious history. The town has several important buildings of archaeological importance like Hansi Fort and Prithviraj Chauhan’s Fort.
Hansi gets very hot in summers and very cold in winters, therefore, the best time to visit Hansi is during the change of season or during winters.
Hansi is famous for its Pedas (sweat meat). One can find many Peda shops in the city.
